We are anticipating a large field for the 20K race this weekend since we had to cancel the 50K event. To alleviate the congestion on the course, the committee has decided to stagger the start times for the 20K.
Despite our recent snowfall, the 50K trail was still not good enough in spots to run the full 50. However, the 20K and 10K trails are in excellent shape, so those two races are on as scheduled. All racers registered for the 50K will now be in the 20K.
Lower peninsula skiers took the top spot in four of the six age classes in the 5K classic Junior Noquemanon today.
Kyle Bratrud and Isabella Howden won the shortened Noquemanon Ski Marathon classic today on a course shortened because of low snow and open water on lakes.

Snow is falling here in Northern Michigan, and we expect to receive between 6-10 inches more before race day! As the final countdown for the event begins, we just wanted to pass on some reminders.

It's another close year in the Michigan Cup Team Standings! The Vasa Ski Club maintains a narrow lead over the Cross Country Ski Headquarters, 10,651 points to 10,119.
Epic battles are underway. It looks to be a North vs. South battle for the junior championships, and the leaders in the Senior division are at risk!
Vanias skied away from the pack to finish in 1:13:26, well ahead of second place. This was Vanias's third victory this season in the Michigan Cup - he's won every event he's entered.
UPDATED: Add Solda recommendation. Gets those skis waxed and get racing! Recommendations from Toko, FastWax, and Swix.
