Lower peninsula skiers top the top spot in all three age classes in the women 5K classic Junior Noquemanon today. Arielle Jean (Suttons Bay), Kaysen Mortensen-Chown (Williamsburg), and Dana Pflughoeft (Traverse City) finished first in the 14-15, 16-17, and 18-19 age classes.
In the men's race, another Traverse City skier, Edward (Ted) Roe was first in the 14-15 age class. Two Marquette skiers, Nathan Garwood and Thomas Ziegler won the 16-17 and 18-19 age classes.
The 3k race featured both skate and classic divisions. In the classic, Estelle Dehlin, Mia Prahl, and Emmy Reese were the top girls in the 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13 age classes. In the boys classic, Jack Grant and Corbin Grim took the 8-9 and 10-11 age classes.
For the skate division, Alaina Eles, Althea Bruggink, and Ella Klasner won the girls 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13 age classes. Galen Prahl, Samuel Dehlin, and Grant Frederickson won the 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13 age classes for the boys.
Special callout to Ben Kuhl, 2nd in the 8-9 age class. Kuhl is the son of Steve Kuhl, former Noquemanon champion and former Michigan Cup skier!
