Kyle Bratrud and Isabella Howden won the shortened Noquemanon Ski Marathon classic today on a course shortened because of low snow and open water on lakes. Bratrud finished the 31k course in 1:31:35.3, just ahead on Chris Pappathopoulos (1:31:36.4) and Frederik Schwencke (1:31:46.3).
Eli Brown and Alex Vanias were the top lower peninsula classic skiers, taking 5th and 6th overall in 1:34:30.8 and 1:34:40.4.
Isabella Howden took first in 1:44:38.6, with Felicia Gesior 2nd in 1:45:09.2. Michigan Cup skier Rebecca Davis was 3rd overall in 1:57:27.4. Michigan Cup skier (and University of Michigan skier) Abby Potts was 6th in 2:06:58.2 followed immediately by Ann Wagar in 2:15:10.1.
Zachary Nelson (1:30:53.6), Jacob Beste (1:30:54.2), and Zach Varty (1:31:07.5) had the fasted 31k skate times for the men.
The top three 31k skate women were Jenna Dickinson (1:44:14.9), Vicki Asmus (1:44:40.0) and Lindsey Kriete (1:47:46.3).
Two Michigain Cup skiers, Andy Liebner (1:17:50.0) and Mike Wiitala (1:25:59.7) took the top two spots in the 23k Classic, with Jeremy Steele (1:28:25.6) in third.
Joan Rundman (1:33:36.8), Amelia Shankwitz (1:39:16.1) and Molly Stewart (1:50:15.6) topped the women's 23K Classic.
The top male skaters in the 23K were Daniel Dehlin (1:03:35.6), Kevin Tarras (1:06:40.4) and Ethan Hall (1:08:34.8).
For the women skaters, it was Lindsey Dehlin (1:07:07.1), Hanna Torvi (1:15:13.3), and Jan Haase (1:19:34.7).
