The Copper Country Ski Tigers won the Michigan State Championships, having both the best girls and best boys team. The Traverse City Central Trojans were second, followed by the Marquette Senior High School Varsity team.

Today the 10K races at the World Masters Cup in Falun were delayed an hour due to a temperature at the track of -25C, or -13F. At least it was sunny with no wind. The snow was still cold and rather slow, though not as bad as yesterday.

Caitlin Compton (Minneapolis) and Kikkan Randall (Anchorage) joined forces for a strong performance in Monday's team sprint, finishing sixth – up four spots from 10th in Torino.

Two Straits Striders topped the standings. Tracy Hardin finished over 2 minutes head of Ann Wagar. In the men's race, Denny Paull's powerful doublepole propelled him to the top spot.

Milan Baic has won the first medal for the United States, a bronze in the 30 K freestyle, M5 class. Conditions were "brutal", according to Milan, worse than the cold White Pine of the past.
