The U.S. Nordic Combined Ski Team came very close to the medals Monday - but not close enough, finishing fourth – just 14 seconds out of the bronze at the 2011 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships at Holmenkollen in Oslo.

Brooks makes most of last minute start

Last minute starter Holly Brooks led the USA Monday finishing 27th in the women's 10k classic at the 2011 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo. Rookie Sadie Bjornsen had her second top 30 of the Championships, in 29th.

Norwegian Tore Martin Gundersen won the 50K Birkie Skate with a time of 2:00:32.8. CXC's Caitlin Compton broke the Women’s 50K Skate course record today and took first place with a winning time of 2:15:26.0.

A bit of new snow to freshen the trails for the 2011 Muffin Race at the Cross Country Ski Headquarters in Higgins Lake on Sunday, February 27. Two races were held, a 1km event for kids 12 and under, and a 4km Classic + 4km Skate Pursuit race.
