The U.S. Nordic Combined Ski Team came very close to the medals Monday - but not close enough, finishing fourth – just 14 seconds out of the bronze at the 2011 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships at Holmenkollen in Oslo.

Norwegian Tore Martin Gundersen won the 50K Birkie Skate with a time of 2:00:32.8. CXC's Caitlin Compton broke the Women’s 50K Skate course record today and took first place with a winning time of 2:15:26.0.
