PARK CITY, UT (June 30) - The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) announced today that USSA Nordic Program Director, John Farra, is leaving his post in order to accept the position of Director, U.S. Paralympics Nordic Skiing High Performance with the U.S. Olympic Committee.
"John has exemplified what it means to run a best in the world program," said Luke Bodensteiner, Executive Vice President, Athletics for the USSA. "His history and dedication to the sport, namely to his athletes, are assets that will be missed."
During his more than three-year term at the USSA, Farra helped nordic athletes make history with four unprecedented medals in Vancouver as well as multiple World Cup and World Championship medals.
"The USSA has provided me a multitude of opportunities and experiences," said Farra. "The medals our nordic athletes won at World Championships and the Winter Olympic Games were a personal highlight for me and I look forward to watching these talented athletes' continued success."
Farra will officially begin his new role at the USOC on Aug. 1, with an end date at the USSA of July 13.
