So far so good! The rain we had over night was so cold that it has not melted as much snow as I thought. Bucks Run is still very well covered with a nice ice top layer.
APU Nordic's Sadie Bjornsen (Winthrop, WA) won her second gold of the week while Dakota Blackhorse von Jess (Bend, OR) of Bend Endurance took a career-first title as the U.S. Cross Country Ski Championships came to a close at Soldier Hollow.

Alaska and Northern Michigan skiers led the way for the CCSA in the distance classic races at U.S. Nationals.
Northern Michigan picked up exactly where they left off last season, as the Wildcats’ Soderman and Frankowski claimed the conference’s top finishes of the men’s 15K and women’s 10K interval start freestyle races at U.S. Nationals at Soldier Hollow.
The snow was quite abrasive and a 30k classic race including climbing up Hermod's Hill 6 times meant that maintaining kick was critical. Green klister covered by Base Green binder offered the best kick and the best glide and was clearly the most durable.
