LATEST TRAIL CONDITIONS

TUE, FEB 19

Huron Meadows Metropark: Bucks run in excellent condition for either skate or classic. Tracks are very good in woods. A few small spots of dirt from building to woods. But can be avoided.
Both Hawk Hills and Coyote are still ok to skate. Have bare spots showing up but they can be skied around.
South of Hammel Road is just skied in.
Still a lot of good snow out there to be had.

Bay City State Park: Good snow. Trail had a dusting of snow which covered up the ice glaze and some of the leaves. Not as fast as it was but less slippery.
A smell of spring in the air this weekend, all too soon, so better get skiing before it's too too late.

Noquemanon Trail-Forestville: Noque to Pines, Animoosh and Gookookoo were all bombi groomed late this morning. Finally some firm conditions! A perfect day out there! Warm sun, beautiful corduroy, and deep-set tracks. Another snow storm arrives tomorrow though, so get out today!

Pigeon Creek: Good conditions today. Glad we were able to hold on to the base. Skating was good but a little soft. Classic tracks were firm and fast. Hope it holds up through the week.

Stokely Creek: Great conditions. Deep tracks and beautiful corduroy. 95% of Stokely trails are both skate and classic. Join us on March 2 for a winter celebrations. After skiing have a Stokely lunch at Norm's. Band, Bar and Desserts back at the Day Skiers at the end of the day. Please call 866-stokely for reservations.

Hanson Hills: All trails are looking beautiful. Conditions are perfect! Groomer Jason will be out re-combing skate lanes on all trails. Lodge and Trails open at 9am.

Cross Country Ski Headquarters: The HQ trails remain in excellent condition, with wide corduroy skating lanes and deep set classic tracks. Groomer Mike will snow comb all the trails this morning. Snow depth in the woods is 24 to 27 inches, and packed on the trail about 13 to 15 inches. It's just heavenly out there!

Today’s Stone Turtle Day Lodge Cafe Lunch Special is the Gourmet Grilled Cheese Panini! Swiss, provolone, basil pesto, and sliced tomato grilled to perfection on herb focaccia bread. Served with Great Lakes Chips and a Pickle. Plus, race equipment closeouts have begun! Stop in to demo for free, or call 800-832-2663 to speak to a ski specialist and get fitted.

MON, FEB 18

Stinchfield Woods : Beautiful snow and enough to do all the big hills!

Big M: February 18, 2019 All trails were groomed on Monday, Feb. 18. The plan is to groom again tomorrow on Tuesday, Feb. 19. Good, fast conditions.
Dave B, our groomer, can be reached at 231 848-7047.
NOTE: please do not park in front of the gate. Also, if you hike or snowshoe the trails, please stay to the side and off the ski tracks. See skibigm.org

Pigeon Creek: Good conditions today. Glad we were able to hold on to the base. Skating was good but a little soft. Classic tracks were firm and fast. Hope it holds up through the week.

Kensington Metropark: Golf course is groomed for skate and classic. A bit soft, should firm up for Tuesday. Adequate snow coverage in the skate lane except for the area adjacent to the entrance road which has some thin but passable spots. Classic track looked good for 95% of the trail but does have a few other spots where they hit grass. Classic-only trails in the woods looked groomed but I did not ski them.

Shanty Creek - Schuss Mtn: All hail the SC grooming team. Hit the trails this morning to find virgin corduroy for skating and firm, deep tracks for classic. Pine Cone, Winterbrook and Poet's Loop were immaculately groomed. LF5 worked well for glide. Just awesome. Thanks

Vasa Trail: Great grooming, 19'F sun light and light lake effect snow; hats off to the Vasa community ! Chris Scholz

Huron Meadows Metropark: Skated Hawk Hills, Coyote and Bucks run. All are in good condition to skate for today and probably tomorrow.
The only place with classic tracks is bucks run. People are making their own tracks around lake and south of Hammel Road.
Get out before the next warm up!!!!

Ogemaw Hills Pathway: Beautiful.
Snow on the trees, nicely broke in trails, few oak leaves, sunny, 12+" of snow. Perfect for no-wax skis, waxed the old way. Polar on tips and tails, hard blue for kick, 20 degrees.

Milham Park Golf Course: Perimeter groomed for skating, thin but very nice, just a couple of spots showing a little dirt or ice. Classic track thin at best. Won't last long without more snow. Dave D

Forbush Corner: Another great day to be outside skiing. Hartwick Pines connectors just regroomed to take care of the snowmobile tracks. Classic tracks and the skate deck are in great shape all over the trail system. Badlands skate deck refreshed with the PBully since it is a favorite of skiers. Sales continue in the shop.

Hanson Hills: Technology is kicking my butt this weekend..

My previous links were to old results. Please try these. Thanks everyone.

Forbush Corner: Want to thank all the people that put on the Forbush Freestyle and Hanson Hills classic race. The courses were meticulously groomed and in spectacular condition. Saturday's race had arguably the best snow conditions we had all year and everyone was treated to sunshine and blue sky's. It felt like a spring day out on the patio deck, with good food and even better company. Hanson Hills classic race completed the perfecta with Perfect classic conditions. It was a great weekend of racing.

Huron Meadows Metropark: Beautiful ski in the heavy snowfall Sunday evening. Bucks was getting very slow but the real snow made it great...several people out enjoying a different experience this winter. His is the first time in a while we needed clear glasses or a visor to see. Used “A” skis with Rex Blue. There should be enough snow to groom the whole network at HM...should be a great week of skiing.

Hanson Hills: Groomer Jason will be out snow combing all skate lanes today. Firm Classic tracks are set on entire trail system. Lodge and Trails open at 9am.

Hanson Hills Classic:
