The final 11-mile stretch of the Pere Marquette Rail Trail, running from Farwell to Reed City, recently has been resurfaced and will be the focus of a community celebration at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at the City of Evart Depot.

The Pere Marquette Rail-Trail will partially close starting Monday, May 16, for a re-surfacing project two weeks earlier than previously announced, which will allow the trail to reopen in early July, rather than the beginning of August.
It's May 1st, and we have now been skiing 176 consecutive days, and the snow is still deep and white some of the trails were groomed again this evening.
This is a challenging technical trail that features significant climbs, thrilling descents, and 13 water crossings and board walks. A trail head sign and map are currently being developed.
The Department of Natural Resources announced that the portion of the Pere Marquette State Rail-Trail from Evart to east of Partridge Avenue in Clare County will be temporarily closed for the months of June and July.
