Thanks to a generous $15,000 Access and Activity grant from Mountain Equipment Co-op, the Algoma Highlands Conservancy (AHC) has successfully built, and is putting the final touches on, our 14 km single track mountain bike trail loop at Stokely Creek Lodge. This is a challenging technical trail that features significant climbs, thrilling descents, and 13 water crossings and board walks. A trail head sign and map are currently being developed.
With this feature attraction essentially ready to go, we are now looking to add some double-track options for more leisurely mountain biking opportunities this summer. Of course all the trails need time to firm up after the spring melt, but all should be ride-able by June. If you would like to experience mountain biking at the AHC, please contact Jennifer Cross (info@algomahighlandsconservancy.org or 705-649-5751 ) for more information!
