Upcoming forecasts only predict sun, cold nights with warming days that is perfect for ski touring outings.
Check out their trail maps.
Easier trails are in the south district with the more challenging trails in the north with good harbor trail Being very easy. Of course the stocking drive and surrounding area is loaded with trails and has deep snow.
So from today till it decides to have the rains and melt downs of spring, these epic trails are the go to place for skiing in the backcountry.
The Trails were established in th late 70's and early 80's.
So grab some friends, snacks and the wine skin and ski some fun...

Excellent trail conditions at Hanson today. Despite the high winds and frigid temperatures, it was a perfect classic day. Special green wax was the right choice for great kick. All the trails were perfectly groomed and the skate deck was solid. It just does not get much better, well maybe a little warmer wouldn’t hurt!

Tue, Feb 18: Nubs Nob (Harbor Springs)
Winter has arrived at the top of Nubs Nob : but inspite of the wind and the low temps , the skiing was mostly sheltered and pleasant , especially on the Blue loop . The groom and snow conditions are very good. My LF6 was acceptable on the cold snow .

Tue, Feb 18: Huron Meadows Metropark (Brighton)
Classic skied Coyote and Bucks. Both had double tracks most of the way around. Tracks on golf course started drifting in by 2:00 or so.
Both sides of the golf course were groomed for skate and classic today.

Looks like it was good yesterday. They must have plowed the paved path again this morning and threw that snow up over the tracks. The set of tracks near the pavement was basically completely covered. The other set was 50/50. Did one lap. Disappointing. Gave up and went to Huron Meadows.
