Sat, Feb 14: Stokely Creek (Goulais River)
Primo tracks early. Snow was a little slow since it was still totally new snow getting near freezing point for the first time. Sunday could be a little glazed and fast if they lay off grooming or back to creamy smooth if they regroom. Saw evidence of an animal, one wearing skis, take a big piss right in the middle of the trail. The wolves have better manners than that and only mark on the edges.

Fri, Feb 13: Hiawatha Highlands (Sault Ste. Marie)
Happy Friday the 13th, and we're entering Family Day Weekend!! It's a beautiful, calm, snowy morning....with the trees glistening as the frost covers their branches :) The temperature is -10 C.
The groomers were out last night -- all systems were Piston Bully groomed for both classic and skate, and as well Mabel Lake (Flats and Hills) was groomed. All trails are in super duper shape!!

REMINDER: Check out all of our Family Day Weekend activities on our social media....in particular, note that the Crystal system and the Pinder system will be skied in backwards direction (including all loops) from Saturday to Monday. Enjoy them in a whole new way!

Thu, Feb 12: Hiawatha Highlands (Sault Ste. Marie)
Happy Thursday!! It's a fabulous bluebird-sky morning up here, the wind is calm, with the temperature sitting at -14 C.
There was no grooming overnight as the trails are in excellent condition.
Mabel Lake (Flats and Hills) was groomed as of 11:30 a.m. yesterday.
Come on everyone, get yourselves up here....it's going to be a glorious day!!

Wed, Feb 11: Stokely Creek (Goulais River)
Primo untouched fresh tracks and corduroy on the Hakon Lien this morning, plus sun. I would have recommended it to Klaebo with complete confidence that he would have found it a pleasure to ski. No pressure, just creamy snow perfection.

Wed, Feb 11: Hiawatha Highlands (Sault Ste. Marie)
It's a gorgeous sunny morning -- happy happy!!! It's a beautiful -6 C.
The groomer is currently out -- the Pinder system was fully Piston Bully groomed for both classic and skate, as was the 2k Lighted. He is currently on the Crystal system. Stay tuned for an update on the Red Pine system.

Tue, Feb 10: Hiawatha Highlands (Sault Ste. Marie)
Good Morning Snow Lovers!! We got quite a bit of snow overnight, but it's shaping up to be a fantastic day (but isn't it always if you're up here skiing?!). The temperature right now is -4 C.
The groomer is currently out -- the Pinder system is complete, both classic and skate, he is currently on the 2k lighted. The Red Pine and Crystal systems will follow. All systems Piston Bully groomed for both classic and skate.
Mabel Hills is now open as of yesterday afternoon :)

Mon, Feb 9: Hiawatha Highlands (Sault Ste. Marie)
It's Monday morning....we hope everybody had a great weekend! The temperature right now is -11 C, with no snow overnight.
Due to the cold temperatures overnight, keeping the trails stable, no grooming was done.
In the words of the groomer, "the skate lanes and tracks are in immaculate shape."
Now, I'm no expert, but I am pretty sure that we'll never look back thinking "we went skiing too much!" So come on up and enjoy another fantastic day on the trails :)
