The North American Vasa Festival of Races Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel this season's planned races due to the high number of COVID cases in the community and statewide.
The Forbush Corner Nordic time trials are cancelled due to the state health department’s restriction on organized sporting events that are scheduled through the 8th. It is likely that the state will extend that ban into January.
Both the Full Noque and the Half Noque races will be run across three day, January 22-24, 2021.
Brumbaugh Cup scorers Jay Woodbeck and Kyle Hanson proposed some language to clarify how the Brumbaugh Cup is scored. The Michigan Cup approved slightly revised wording, and an additional few clarifications were made.
The North American Vasa is committed to running an in-person event for 2021, though it will be limited in scope and COVID-19 safety measures will be in place that all participants will have to agree to abide by.
The good news: There IS going to be a Michigan Cup Race Series for 2020-21 - The Michigan Cup Committee approved a revised race calendar.
The Michigan Cup Committee meets this coming August 30 to discuss the upcoming Michigan Cup season. We'll be sitting outside, social distancing, at Hanson Hills.
The North American Vasa will introduce a Skiathlon as the marque event in the 2021 Vasa Festival of Races.

Sarah Goble and Reid Goble received the Michigan Tech Huskies'' 2020 Most Outstanding Skier Award
Former Michigan Cup skier Sarah Goble had an All-America performance in the 5-kilometer skate after finishing seventh with a time of 14:11.7.
The Michigan Cup Committee recognizes the racers who are the best of the best: the top ten percent in each age category.
