Former Michigan Cup racer and current member of the Bridger Ski Foundation Pro Team Reid Goble has had a great couple weeks. First, he won the Minneapolis SuperTour race. Then he won a gold medal serving as a guide in the Paralympics. Finally, he's been chosen to race in the Men's 10km interval start classic race (3/20) at the FIS World Cup Finals in Lake Placid NY. Way to go Reid!
Because most racers register just before or the day of the race, ordering shirts and food becomes pretty tricky. To help ensure a quality event, it would be greatly appreciated if all those who plan to likely attend could send me an e-mail ASAP!,
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr -- I forgot what 9 degrees feels like. Rock solid track freshly groomed.,
The tremendously successful CXC FIS SuperTour Series hosted by Central Cross-Country Skiing, overcame everything mother nature threw at them to wrap up the four-week loop around the Midwest last weekend.,
Warned to use rock skis or a “B-pair” of boards, athletes entered the event with relatively low expectations for course conditions. What greeted them on the trail was an extremely positive surprise.,
The morning qualifying course was less than 1000 meters and climbed up and down one long hill in a series of ascents, descents, and curves.,
Conditions for tonights 4 K classic sprints were ideal. The temperature was about 24 degrees at the start and the race course had a nice set of double tracks set for the sprint. The Staff at Timber Ridge did a great job of grooming and setting.,
Swix is introducing The Direct Force Concept 'FORCE 10' Ski Pole in time for the 2006 Olympics. Dick Fultz discusses his experiences with them.,
The 2006 White Pine Stampede proves one thing for sure: you don't need snow to hold a cross country ski event, just a bunch of crazy skiers who are starved for snow; they will ski on anything!!,

Forbush Corner: We will be out grooming again tomorrow morning. Results have been springlike, fast solid skate deck early that softens with traffic and warming temperatures, and classic tracks that are fast early and variable in depth. Coverage is still 100%. Open at 9. Gates close at 5.
Forbush Corner: Great day of classic and skate skiing today. Classic tracks were shallow but still very skiable. Skate lane hard and fast. All east side trails and pines loop all groomed. Nice job groomers.
Thanks for a great day everyone at Forbush!!
Nubs Nob: If there is a Holy Grail for skate and classic Nordic Skiing , it is at Nubs Nob today !
Hiawatha Highlands: Happy Sunny Friday Morning!! It's a gorgeous morning up here....albeit a little more chilly, temp currently at -16 C. However, it's going to be a splendous day up here!
The groomer is currently on the trails -- the 2k Lighted was completed, Piston Bully groomed, for both classic and skate. He is currently on the 4k Pinder (no loops will be groomed today, still in good shape). The Crystal system will be done after that. We will update if the Red Pine system will be done.
Come on everybody, grab your gear, and take in this beautiful sunny day!!
Reminder: Come up tomorrow (Saturday) from 12-4 p.m. for our Customer Appreciation BBQ.....enjoy a hotdog (or two), and enjoy a lovely social afternoon :)
Forbush Corner: The rain is moving out soon and the temps will be dropping well below freezing tonight, allowing us to head out on the trails tomorrow. We still have 100% coverage, but expect that the grooming will be a bit slower than usual. East side trails and Pines Loop will get the fresh groom. Trails and shop open at 9. Gates close at 5. (We plan to be open tomorrow through Monday).
Hiawatha Highlands: Good Morning Everyone!! It's another calm morning, a bit foggy. The temperature was warm overnight, now sitting at -1 C.
There was no grooming with the warm overnight temps, the trails are still in good shape.
We hope everybody has a great day :)
