Team scoring for the Brumbaugh was based on rosters submitted January 1. The additional skiers added through January 31 are also scored and past Brumbaugh Cup race results have been adjusted to account for these additional skiers.
Fortunately, there's SNOW at the Al Quaal Recreation Area in Ishpeming, MI. That's good news for the Michigan High School Championships! Now, get waxing...
Team NordicSKiRacer extends lead in Brumbaugh Cup in what is a tight race between NordicSkiRacer, Grand Rapids Nordic, and Hanson Hills/Cross Country Ski Shop.
Absolutely beautiful skiing with Klister conditions, icy tracks, so fast!
Totally climbing for the 10.5km race: 520 meters or over 1,700 feet! But snow conditions were good!
Wax recommendations for this weekend's Michigan Cup races!
A bout of cold weather and bountiful snowfall and Crystal Mountain's Nordic ski trails presented a winter wonderland to the 49 bold Juniors participating In Crystal Community Ski Club's Flying Squirrel Freestyle.
Just like in 2023, the 2024 WPS Course will use the slopes of Schuss Mountain’s King of The Hill loop. Each loop will total 3.4 km and go up and down 4 ski hills under the downhill ski lights. This course is challenging, but not dangerous.
The 2024 Beech Nut Jr Race at Nubs Nob on Sunday, January 28, 2024 is in the book, with an international flavor!
After four races, Beckham Haberkorn and Avery Ludlow have the early lead in the Junior Division. Deanna Spencer and Eric Parrott lead the seniors.
After four races, Team NordicSkiRacer is still leading but is only 9 points ahead of GRNST and 61 points ahead of HHCCSS. Looks like we are in for a real thriller.

Stokely Creek: Still awesome! The first km from the Lodge has a bit of icy washboard, but after that you will be very happy.
Huron Meadows Metropark: Bucks Run: no connector; groomed for skate and classic. Classic tracks are 50% ice luge runs - especially in the corners. If skate traffic is light it may be better to classic ski on the skate
Deck.
Hanson Hills: Groomer Dan is combing Red, Yellow, Brown, Blue, M-93 this morning.
**Note we are hosting our Party at the Shack today, 1pm-3pm. Hikers/Snowshoers/Fat Bike and XC Skiers will be sharing the main trail system from the Trailhead to Easy Return to the Shack.
Cross Country Ski Headquarters: We received a little snow yesterday and last night and the trails are open! We will start with grooming the practice field and demo area, and then move on to the main trail network afterwards. There are still some soft spots on the main network, so we may delay snowcombing across the street for an hour or two to let them firm up, but with the snow we got yesterday and last night, we're feeling very grateful! Our hope is to at least set some skate lanes after things firm up a bit, but we will not be setting new classic tracks just yet. Today is also our famous Rib's 'n Blues festival! Enjoy delicious ribs and an a live blues band from 2-4! Winter is coming back!!
Michaywe: Received about 3-4 inches of heavy wet snow yesterday. Temps really didn't get below freezing here last night. Plan was to groom this morning, however due to the high moisture content in the snow we will be postponing grooming until tomorrow when conditions will be more favorable.
Forbush Corner: https://nordic-pulse.com/ski-areas/US/MI/Forbush-Corner-Nordic
Forbush Corner: Open 9-5. it is still snowing lightly; and the grooming process has commenced. It would be best if skiers let the deck and tracks sit until at least 10A to firm up. (setting up time is good for the groomed trails) Please use mdot to assess when and where driving is worrisome, and be careful in our parking lot. The snow is super wet and slippery on top of ice in some areas. Please use the Nordic Pulse app or website to see what has been groomed so far.
Huron Meadows Metropark: Bucks lives! Still a connection all the way around. And the tracks are still there, frozen but usable .Refreezing when I was out (3-4/30pm) with still a lot of spots that are still white and not boilerplate. Some dirt showing thru in only a few spots. There is debris from the wind but actually not as bad as I thought. They should be able to groom it for decent conditions this weekend. Hopefully it won’t bring up to much dirt.
Forbush Corner: The weather must've been smokin' something today (or the weather forecasters). It started snowing before 10 AM - wet snow - snow globe level of snowing - no wind - and now we have over 2 inches. This bodes well for the weekend.
Stokely Creek: Awesome skating again this morning until 10:30am when it started to drastically slow down. Classic should be fine all day even in mixed precip. Trail should stay plenty firm all day, just getting moist on top and slow.
Cross Country Ski Headquarters: The trails are closed today due to a wintery-mix. We should start seeing some real snow around 3/4pm continuing through the night, with accumulation up to 2", which should put us in a good spot for tomorrow!
Hanson Hills: Due to ongoing rain and soft surface conditions, Cross Country Ski Trails are closed for the day to preserve the integrity of the trail base and prevent damage during saturated conditions.
Protecting our snow surface and ensuring safe operating conditions for our guests and staff remains our top priority.
Forbush Corner: No grooming today but if a brave soul wants to ski in the rain and mixed precipitation (later, like noonish), we will be here. Grooming probably Saturday AM after the temps drop. Fish scale skis might be best.
Forbush Corner: The forecast for tomorrow is still uncertain. Trails held up well today. We will evaluate conditions and grooming potential in the AM. Check here or facebook for an 8 AM update.
Forbush Corner:
Stokely Creek: Excellent trail conditions today for both skating and classic. The base is deep with cold dry snow so the crust from the last couple of days blended up nicely with the fresh inch on top to make a very controllable surface with just a dash of ice for the speed lovers amongst us.
Cross Country Ski Headquarters: The trails are open today, but we will not be grooming. I went out on Trappers Cabin today and it is very skiable! We still have a very thick base and though some spots are a little glazed over and the tracks are pretty washed out, the skiing was lovely! Tall Pines has a fair amount of debris and some of the downhills might be a little slick on Rolling Hills, but with a good snowplow technique, very manageable! Things will be more firm this morning, and then will soften up with the sun in the afternoon. Trails will most likely be closed tomorrow (Friday) due to precipitation in the morning, but that will transition into snow by tomorrow evening and then we are forecast to get snow Saturday and Sunday, so we should have decent skiing this weekend!
Hiawatha Highlands: Good Morning Snow Peeps!! We got a bit of snow overnight, freshening things up beautifully! The temperature is currently at -3 C.
The groomer was out this morning -- ALL systems have been Piston Bully groomed for both classic and skate....and trails are looking terrific!!
We hope everyone has a super awesome, ridiculously fantabulous, crazy good, happy kind of day.....how could you not if you're up here skiing! :)
Hanson Hills: THURSDAY UPDATE — FEBRUARY 19, 2026
Groomer Dan is out this morning combing the entire trail system with our Tidd Tech groomer, freshening things up after recent weather .
Forbush Corner: Trails are holding up to the unsettled spring-like weather. Some limited grooming on the east side is expected. Check out Nordic Pulse on our website for groomers choice. Open 9 to 5.
