RESULTS: Michael and Rebecca Davis crowned Classic Champions at Hanson Hills

This may be a first: the dynamic duo and husband and wife Michael Davis and Rebecca Davis won the Hanson Hills Classic and became the 2023 Michigan Cup Classic Championships

The new snow certainly helped the conditions for Meijer State Games - Hanson Hills Classic.The 11km race was held with temperatures around freezing, making waxing interesting for those not owning zero's, skin skis, or fishscales.

Rebecca Davis (Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop) women the women's division in 40:01. Mandy Paull (Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop), winner of the previous day's Forbush Freestyle and 2023 MI Cup Freestyle Champion took third in 41:43, with Mariah Frye (Cross Country Ski Headquarters) taking third in 43:13.

The competition was tighter in the men's division, with the top three no more than 42 seconds apart. Michael Davis (Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop) won in 36:25; Sean Newmister (Team NordicSkiRacer) finished second in 36:39 and Dennis Paull (Grand Rapids Nordic Ski Team) took third in 36:57 .
