It now appears that no official descision has been reached by the MDNR regarding whether they will groom ski trails this winter.

Looks like Gaylord office DNR is still planning on grooming this year, and the Black Mountain Classic organiziers say not to worry.
MDNR has no funds for ski trail grooming

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has no funding for trail grooming this winter. No MDNR groomed trails will be groomed this season. The Vasa trail will be groomed by volunteers.

For pampered rollerskiing, nothing beats the Pere Marquette Rail-Trail between Midland and Clare in the center of the lower peninsula. The pavement is smooth & wide - and there are eight bathrooms along the length of this 30 mile linear trail.,
