Team NordicSkiRacer Captures VASA Team Win

Team NordicSkiRacer notched their 2nd Team win this past weekend at the 50K Vasa freestyle race with GRNST close behind and HH/CCSS taking 3rd. SS, TNSC and CCSH came in 4th, 5th and 6th, respectively.

Denny Paull of Cheboygan held off Cliff Onthank to win the men's 16K event. It was Paull's 2nd consecutive win in the Gran Travers Classic. Tracy Hardin of Cheboygan easily won the women's 16K event.

Traverse City Central High School took the Girls State Title and combined with the Boys third place finish to win the Overall State Title in the Michigan High School State Finals in Nordic Skiing, defeating 5-time defending champs, Copper Country.

Traverse City's Ben Lannin won the 50 Km freestyle at the 2009 North American Vasa in 2:30:59. Debbie Westphal time trialed much of the race by herself to win in 3:06:43.
