TUE, DEC 31

Valley Spur: With temp just above 32 and base still soft from last few days groomer will wait until early morning of Jan 1st.
Forecast is good with winter temps and some LES forecast.
Some trail damage in the usual low spots, beginning of B and Worel’s Woods on H.

Forbush Corner: Warm temperatures have slowed progress on moving snow and tilling the 240 loop, but with the below freezing temperatures in the forecast we expect to have the whole loop ready in the next few days. However we do have Ridge available and roughly half of the 240 loop (maybe a total of 2k) so some skiing is available. This terrain favors intermediate level/experience so beginners should wait until we have some easier trails available. All of our other trails have suffered from the meltdown, and we need more snow and below freezing temperatures before we can bring them back. Open 9 to 5.

Hanson Hills: Winter Wolf Skiathlon - Race Update
New Location: Forbush Corner (moved from Hanson Hills Recreation Area)

Receive BIB and sign a Forbush release form

Race Start: 10:00 AM

Course:
TBD, aiming for Snowmaking Loops to ensure perfect conditions
Format: Approx. 12km total (6km Classic, 6km Skate) with self-seeded wave starts (4 racers every 5 seconds)

Awards: Overall male/female winners (Senior & Junior categories)

Special thanks to Forbush Corner for co-hosting and ensuring this inaugural event happens!

Forbush Corner: It is still too warm and wet to groom, which means we will be closed again today. Temperatures are supposed to drop to around freezing tonight and slightly below freezing by Tuesday morning. We will try to groom up part of the snowmaking loop and ridge tomorrow for skiing. We still need to finish moving the snow piles on half of the loop and Linda's loop. That work will resume tomorrow as well with the hopes of completing it by the 1st or 2nd. The base on our other trails has mostly survived. If we get some lake effect snow towards the end of the week we will be able to groom some of those trails.
