Michigan Tech Nordic skiing coach Joe Haggenmiller signed four athletes during the offseason: Gaspard Cuenot (Le Cerneux-Pequignot, Switzerland), Brendan Klynstra (Ionia, Mich.), Reed Melicher (Eveleth, Minn.) and Matthew Pahl (Canton, Mich.).

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has selected Beijing, China as the host city for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games. The venues for skiing and snowboarding are in an existing winter sports region, but have yet to be constructed.
