The U.S. Ski Team qualified three skiers into the heats but all fell victim in the quarterfinals as the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships got underway in Val di Fiemme with classic sprints.

UPDATED: Jessie Diggins (Afton, MN) and Liz Stephen (E. Montpelier, VT) cracked the top 15 in Davos at the final FIS Cross Country World Cup before the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships open later this week.
Andy Newell (Shaftsbury, VT) skied to his best finish in three seasons finishing fourth in a classic sprint in Davos. It boosted him into second in the World Cup sprint standings.

Many skiers in the Great Lakes Division of CXC Skiing are getting ready to head off to either the TD Bank J2 Championships in Plymouth, NH on March 8-10, 2013, or to the 2013 USSA Marriott Junior National Cross Country Ski Championships in Alaska.
It was déjà vu for Chicago's Andrew Nadler, winning the 27K Vasa for the second time in three years. Last year's 50k women's winner, Amy Powell, was the top women, winning in 1:35:09.
