Five U.S. athletes skied into the points Sunday in classic distance racing on the FIS World Cup in Otepaa: Kikkan Randall, Jessie Diggins, Noah Hoffman, Liz Stephen, and Andy Newell.
Both Andy Newell (Shaftsbury, VT) and Kikkan Randall (Anchorage) pushed through tough quarterfinal battles before going out in the semis in a FIS World Cup classic sprint in Otepaa.
The U.S. Cross Country Ski Team named its 2012 FIS Junior World Championship Team and Under 23 World Championship Teams. The athletes were selected based on results at the 2012 U.S. Cross Country Ski Championships.

Finally! A race with decent snow with - GASP! -set tracks. Skiers who avoided last week's iffy snow at the Frosty Freestyle and Krazy Klassic came out in droves for the 2012 Cote Dame Marie at Hanson Hills in Grayling, MI.

Forty-five kids arrived at Huron Meadows at 8:00am, got their skis, and headed out to the start line to race in the first ever Frosty Freestyle Kids Race. Frosty the Snowman was their to cheer them on!

Saturday's JNQ Race and Nordic Flurry is tentatively a go. However, all who participate must pre-register by NOON tomorrow. Registration for Sunday's JNQ races will be handled on Saturday and/or day of if the races on Sunday morning if they are a go.
