Michael Davis made it a double victory this weekend, winning Saturday's North American Vasa 27km classic and Sunday's 16km Gran Travers Classic. And Rebecca Davis took no prisoners in the women's division, finishing first with a 10 minute lead.
Alex Vanias and Mariah Frye-Collie win the 50km freestyle, but Kaitlyn Patterson crushes men and women alike in 27km Vasa freestyle.
The Copper Country Ski Tigers won the overall Michigan State High School Cross Country Ski Championship title by taking first in the boys and third in the girls competition. Marquette Senior was second overall. TC Central won the girls title.
Copper Country leads the boys team scoring with Marquette second and Traverse City Third. Traverse City girls currently on top followed by Copper Country and Marquette.

The Cross Country Ski Headquarters narrowly leads the Vasa Ski Club in the Michigan Cup Team standings, Issac Coulter, Mary Lyon are currently the top juniors. Milan Baic and Rebecca Davis top the senior standings.
Says Jay Woodbeck: "John O'Hearn took the lead 3k in and never looked back. He gained a sizeable gap and held it to the end, soloing the 45k. Quite impressive. Felt like I needed slush skis because he scorched the trail."

It was in the mid-30's with a bit of sun at the Hanson Hills 12km Classic. Part of the Meijer State Games of Michigan, the forecast had been for rain, but the downpour waited until all the racers were in.
It was a two lap course for the 17km Forbush Freestyle, part of the Meijer State Games of Michigan. The temperature at the start was around 29. Conditions softened up by the second lap.
Kyle Bratrud and Natalia Naryshkina win the 50K classic. Eli Brown and Ellen Wittalla were the top lower peninsula 50k classic skiers, each finishing just off the podium in fourth place.
