Frosty Freestyle and Krazy Klassic kick off Michigan Cup race series

It's Frosty Weekend Time! The REI Frosty Freestyle and NordicSkiRacer.com Krazy Klassic races will be held on man-made snow at Huron Meadows Metropark this Saturday and Sunday, January 9 and 10. We've been making snow furiously using our four snow guns, laying the snow down, and grooming...and we've been skiing on a beautiful skate lane and deep tracks for the past several days.
Race course on Wednesday
These will be the first full-point Michigan Cup races of the season. Early season races up north were cancelled because of El Nino.
- The 5k Frosty Freestyle is a Michigan Cup Fun Series race, the 15K event is a full Michigan Cup Series race.
- The 8k Krazy Klassic is a Michigan Cup Fun Series race, the 12K event is a full Michigan Cup Series race.

Online registration ends Thursday, Jan 7 at 4:00pm: Frosty Freestyle online registration
There is day-of-race registration (Cash or Check only - we will not be able to take credit cards)
There are both classic and skate divisions (skiers are "free" to choose their own race style), and a race for kids.

8:00 AM — Packet Pick-Up and Race-Day Registration begin
9:30 AM — Kids' Race begins
10:00 AM — Packet Pick-Up and Race-Day Registration ends
10:15 AM — Post-race pancake breakfast begins
10:15 AM — 5K Skate participants begin lining up at the start line
10:25 AM — 5K Classic participants begin lining up at the start line
10:30 AM — 5K Skate race starts
10:32 AM — 5K Classic race starts
11 AM — 15K Skate participants begin lining up at the start line
11:10 AM — 15K Classic participants begin lining up at the start line
11:15 AM — 15K Skate race starts
11:17 AM — 15K Classic race starts
1:00 PM — Awards ceremony (approximate time)
1:15 PM — Post-race pancake breakfast ends

The Krazy Klassic is a classic-only technique race - no skating is allowed. we expect to course to be double or triple-tracked. The race is interval start: Two skiers will be starting every 15 seconds.
