Huron Meadows gets Fischer SC Skate Ski fleet for rentals

Huron Meadows Metropark has taken delivery of a new fleet of Fischer SC SkateCut skate skis, becoming the only place in southern Michigan offer skate ski rentals. The new skate skis join the inventory of the Fischer Jupitor Control waxless skis purchased toward the end of last season. The skate skis purchase was made possible by a $2,600 donation from the 2010 REI Frosty Freestyle cross country ski race.
The Fischer SC SkateCut skis are performance skis designed for skiers developing their skate ski technique:
- They are light and maneuverable because of the Air Tec core that combines lightweight wood and air channels.
- SkateCut dual sidecut reduces pressure points in the forebody and tail of the ski, enhancing glide for beginner skiers who tend to ride the edge of the ski.
- The PowerEdge construction provides lateral reinforcement for edge durability and optimal power transfer.
The skis come with World Cup Pro graphite race base and a Ultra Finish universal stone grinding so it glides well in all snow conditions.
