Huron Meadows Metropark in Brighton, MI, has finally received their shipment of new Fischer rental waxless classic skis and boots, and Swix poles! The skis are Fischer Jupitor Control. Control and turning are what the designers at Fischer had in mind when they created this ski. Says Dick Fultz on the Cross Country Ski Shop site:
The WAXLESS Jupiter Control's dimensions make this ski very versatile. It has plenty of flotation for the ungroomed trail yet still fits in a set track for enjoyable groomed trail skiing. The Jupiter Control's is defined by 5 instead of the old school 3 measurements. Fischer calls it WBT -- Wide Body Technology -- that creates a ski wider just forward of the foot with a narrowing fore and aft. The idea behind this type of side cut is better grip and stability. Fischer is right on the money. But let's not forget why we ski. It's the glide -- and the Jupiter Control glides phenomenally well, particularly in the track. The mid-length sizing makes climbing and turning easier. The Jupiter Control features a quality air-channeled wood core Cap Construction and a Sintered SinTec base.
The new Fischer XC Touring rental boot uses the NNN T3 touring sole. Thinsulate® insulation along with a neoprene sock construction gives maximum protection against the cold and wet. It has a medium sole hardness for more control on the track.
The expected rental skating skis have not arrived. Hudson Mills Metropark also received the same rental equipment.
Now's the time to get your friends hooked cross country skiing!
