RESULTS: CXC GLD Junior National Qualifier: Boyne Classic

Saturday, February 3, Boyne Mountain. Central Cross Country Skiing's Great Lakes Division's Classic Junior National Qualifier race was held on Saturday on the hilly cross country ski trails at Boyne Mountain. Girls raced 5km while the boys skated 10km just like Saturday's freestyle race.
Winners in each division ("U" stands for "Under"):
Girls:
- U16: Maria Velat, Houghton
- U18: Erica Asmus, Houghton
- U20: Samantha Borzick, Marquette
Boys:
- U16: Michael Fraley, Houghton
- U18: Joe Wood, Houghton
- U20: Nathan Garwood, Marquette.

Note the Nick Baic, organizer for the weekend's races, also was in charge of results at Saturday's White Pine Stampede. He started in Mancelona early in the morning, headed to Shanty Creek in late morning to score finishers, than had to rush to Boyne Mountain for the CXC GLD races. He deserves a medal for having to deal with three different races in two days!!!!!
