Fifty-five teams competed under beautiful sunny skies and a great snow for the 2009 Michigan Cup Relays at the Cross Country Ski Headquarters in Roscommon.

The Cross Country Ski Headquarters won the Michigan Cup for the third year in a row - their fourth win since 2004. In a surprise to many, Traverse City Nordic took the Brumbaugh Cup for the most powerful team on the 2009 Michigan Cup circuit.

The 2009 U.S. Masters XC Ski Team was named by the AXCS. Natalie Dawson of Team NordicSkiRacer.com was named to the women's team.
Cross Country Ski Headquarters posted their first team win of the season at the Boyne Classic by winning the men >= 50, and the womens' divisions, and placing third for the men < 50 division. HH/CCSS wins overall title.

Temperatures stayed at or below freezing for Sunday's Boyne Highlands 5 Km / 15 Km Freestyle race. The course was tilled several times to provide an non-icy surface. The course was extremely fast but "edgeable."
