Bay Meadows GC: Me again, after skating I went over to Bay Meadows and it was about the same as yesterday, used my Evo's and worked just fine. Someone looks like they tried to skate, bet it was Cliff. Some wind blown spots but they had a thin crust to ice. Hope to get rid of the wind.
Hickory Hills: Coach K groomed the meadows and although it was rock skis, the fall trail that had been cut real low provided enough groomed snow to make it very skiable. Although marginal, the skating was pretty good for the 4" of packed snow we had. Add another couple of inches and another groom and it will be very good.
Forbush Corner: Larry is out clearing the parking lot and will start tilling all the snow to get it ready for skiing on Saturday. We will open for the season at 9am Saturday November 29th.
Cross Country Ski Headquarters: What an amazing Thanksgiving gift! We received 8" of fresh snow over the past 2 days and the snowy woods are a welcome sight! The ground is still not quite frozen, so we will not be grooming today, but the trails are open for powder skiing and rentals. Our plan is to at least pack the snow sometime before tomorrow evening, and then if we get the 4-5" forecasted for Saturday night, potentially snowcomb some trails by Monday! (fingers crossed) The cafe will be open for food Next Saturday, Dec 6th, but we will have the fire going and some drinks available this weekend! We will send another update Sunday.
Happy Thanksgiving weekend!
Interlochen Golf Course: Skied-in a track in 3" of fresh snow, and enjoyed the glide on the way back, esp since I had the wind at my back. I measured 7.5 " at home nearby, so there's a big difference in different parts of town.
ABR Trails: We picked up another 5-6 inches of snow overnight, a full groomer crew was out most of the day grooming 15 km and prepping more for Friday. The bigger Pisten Bully was out powertilling and setting track with multiple passes. Skate lanes were much firmer than expected and tracks were solid…all white so you can use your best skis. Friday morning we plan to regroom the 15 km as needed and open Memory, and head to the south and work on the Highlands. Happy Thanksgiving, see you
Bay Meadows GC: About 4" of good heavy snow with some areas of deep snow drifts and some areas of snow ice crust on top. Used my Evo's and they were good with kick and glide. Pretty windy but it was nice to see winter arrive with a bang.
Came home to see Lions lose heart breaking game to GB.
