Team USA came up from the back of the pack after a rough start Sunday to finish 11th in the men’s 4x10k relay event of the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games.
Team USA left it all on the course Saturday but was not able to keep pace and finished ninth at the women’s 4x5k relay of the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games.
Springtime temperatures ruled the course for a second day in a row Friday at the men’s 15k classic of the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games, where Noah Hoffman (Aspen, CO) took the top spot for the USA in 31st.
Kaitlin Patterson cruised in for the win, while Ryan Halstead had to fight off John O'Hearn and Ryan Harris for the win on the hilly course of the Forbush Corner Freestyle.
What an amazing race for the overall team championship. Only a few hundred points separate 1st from 3rd. Scoring includes Juniors x.2 and Seniors. X.8 including 6 Hour Team Relays.
These are the Michigan Cup Individual Results to date. Note, I scored the Juniors in both the 6K Vasa and Grand Traverse even though the brochure says it should be the longer races.

Randall was heavily favored to win but did not advance past the quarterfinal round. Rookie Sophie Caldwell muscled into the final and took the top spot for the USA in sixth.
