Brick Wheels Previews Winter Fun at "Wine, Women & Wax"

Traverse City, August 17, 2006 " Following on the heels of last May's successful cycling-oriented event, "Wine, Women & Wheels," Brick Wheels is again sponsoring a different kind of girls' night out for sports-minded women. On Wednesday, November 8, from 6-9 p.m., the popular local bicycle and ski shop will host "Wine, Women & Wax" in anticipation of the upcoming cross-country and downhill ski season.

Those attending can take advantage of a 25% discount on clothing and accessories the night of the event. Along with its extensive selection of top ski, snowboard and snowshoe equipment, Brick Wheels is a leader in women-specific sports clothing, including the new snowboarding line B by Burton.

Experts will be on hand throughout the evening to answer questions and give tips on waxing, various ski and snowboarding techniques, special equipment and more. Featured vendors include Salomon, Fischer, Nordica, Tubbs Sporthill, North Face, Pearlizumi, Orage Swix Marker, Bell and Giro, Atlas and Volkl. Specials on ski packages and snowshoes, as well as exciting prize giveaways will also be part of the fun.

As at the May event, a silent auction of dozens of attractive items "from spa packages to food, wine and clothing" will benefit the Women's Resource Center. And to lend a further festive note to the evening, another very popular aspect of the May event will be reprised: tables featuring local wines and a sumptuous assortment of breads and cheeses, as well as fresh-roasted coffee and sweets.
