July 6th Newsletter from the NTN!
The NTN MTB Time Trial scheduled for Saturday, July 8th has been cancelled. Apologies for the last-minute notice.
The next MTB Time Trial is set for August 5th. Double points will be awarded for this race, so there is time to make up points before the finale on August 26th, with the Team Time Trial.
The 12 Hour of Potluck is scheduled for next Saturday, July 15th at Harlow Lake Trails. You don't want to miss this with a primo course and lots of fun. Race solo or on a team. The course is 5 miles long. If interested log-on to kmkcycling.com
The Ore 2 Shore is coming soon! Don't forget to sign up and get the early sign-up discount. The race is set for August 12th...and it does benefit the NTN!
The volunteers of the NTN, and the board have been hard at work improving the Forestville Trailhead! The pole barn is almost completed.
The parking lot will be graveled and we are in the process of cutting new trails! There is now a beginner trail, a "sprint" loop and a long adventure loop that will take you out to the 16 Kilometer mark on the Noquemanon Trail. We've also made improvements on the existing Noquemanon Trail. There is also a large area that will be available for learning to ski this winter.
This winter there will be rentals available and a nice place to keep warm!! Great improvements from the past! Thanks to your support of the NTN!
Don't forget to purchase your raffle tickets for the Trek 8000 mountain bike that was donated by the Sports Rack. This $1300 bike will be raffled off at the O2S awards. Tickets are 2/$5 or $3 each. They can be purchased at the Sports Rack!
Keep your eye out for the cool new bike stickers available at area bicycle shops. They cost $2 and all proceeds go to the new mountain bike development efforts at South Marquette and surrounding areas! Thanks to Shane Mundt of Mundt Arts for designing them!
