TART: Bike Class, Trail Vandalism & Volunteer Opportunity

Hello friends of TART Trails,

I have several items to share with you.

First, TART is again hosting a bicycle commuting class on Sunday, June 25 from 2:00pm-5:00pm. If you are interested, please read complete details below.

Second, we have received 2 recent reports of vandalism on the trails. On the TART trail, a trash can near Holiday Hills Rd. was demolished, and at the Vasa Pathway trailhead (off Bartlett Rd.), someone tried to dig up the fee pipe. Both incidents have been reported to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Department. If anyone has any more information, please contact me at 941-4300.

Finally, we are looking for 3-4 individuals who can help re-install the fee pipe at the Vasa Pathway trailhead. Now that the pipe is exposed, we would also like to paint it. I'd like to have the pipe refurbished and re-set by sometime next week. Please let me know if you would like to help. Call or email.
