Greetings TART Trails Volunteers,
We're excited to announce the opportunity to sign-up for Jerry Glenn's third and final bridge re-decking project. For a second consecutive year, materials for this project have been proudly sponsored by The Home Depot. We are re-decking two bridges this year so the project will be double the fun!
Both of the bridges are located just east and west of Holiday Rd along the TART Trail: Google Map. Thanks to Grand Traverse County's partnership there will be a port-a-john and a shaded picnic table for rejuvenating breaks. Jerry will supply a water cooler so please bring a water bottle from home for refills so you stay hydrated. On the work site, in addition to great humor and camaraderie, we strive to supply all of the comforts of home.
Dates:
This year's project will kick-off on Tuesday, May 8th through Thursday, May 10th break over the weekend and pick back up on Monday, May 14th working daily through Thursday May 17th.
On each project day there will be two shifts: A morning shift from 8:30am-12:30pm breaking for lunch from 12:30pm-1pm and an afternoon shift from 1pm-5pm.
The first bridge to re-deck is located behind Murdick's Fudge on US 31 N and parallels 5 Mile Road. This bridge will be worked on until Monday, May 14th.
The second bridge for re-decking is located behind Walgreen's and is scheduled to begin work on Tuesday, May 15th.
