
PRAGELATO, Italy (Feb. 24) - Katerina Neumannova of the Czech Republic overtook Russia's Julija Tchepalova in a sprint to win the gold in today's women's 30km mass-start skate race. The winning margin? 1.4 seconds. Justyna Kowalczyk of Poland crossed the line in third, only 0.6 seconds behind Tchepalova.
Sarah Konrad (Laramie, WY) was the top U.S. finisher in today's cross country 30km freestyle race, with a 32nd place. Rebecca Dussault (Gunnison, CO) was 43rd, Abigail Larson (Bozeman, MT) was 47th and Lindsey Weier (Mahtomedi, MN) did not finish.
No Canadian women raced today.
