Erin Lipp and Andrew Bruning top Muffin Race podium
Michigan Cup: Muffin Race

After finishing third overall in Saturday's Boyne Mountain Grinder Freestyle, Erin Lipp skied to victory in Sunday's 20th Annual Muffin Pursuit Race. She skied both the fastest classic and skate legs of the pursuit, winning in 37:00.
Heidi Schwab was second, with the second fastest classic and skate legs, finishing in 38:45. Third was Hannah Davis, with the fourth fastest classic leg and the third fastest skate leg. Hannah finished in 41:06.
For the guys, it was a fight to the finish. Andrew Bruning finshed the classic leg trailing in fourth position, but was fastest overall in the skate leg, giving him a combined time of 31:22 - only one second ahead of Ian Durand. Ian was the top classic skier, and was third in the skate leg, but was one second shy of the win in 31:23.
That's not all! Mark Smith was only 2 seconds behind Ian, with the second fastest classic and skate legs. This was an exciting race!
