Snow conditions have forced races to be cancelled or modified. Here's a list of upcoming Michigan Cup races and their status.
This weekend's race at Boyne Mountain (Feb 25) is a Freestyle Race. Even though it was originally posted as a Classic race in the Mi Cup Brochure, organizers several weeks ago decided to host a freestyle race. This was a better situation for the Michigan Cup schedule as it broke up a string what would have been 3 classic races in a row.
Juniors can partake in the longest running Junior race on the Michigan Cup Circuit. The Muffin Race (Feb 26) at Cross Country Ski Headquarters.
The Black Mountain race (Mar 3) is experiencing low snow. Plans are to run a classic race, but be aware that if snow conditions are not conducive to a classic it may change to a Freestyle race. Keep updated at this website for the latest changes.
The Boyne Highlands Freestyle (Mar 4) is the day after the Black Mountain race and is still scheduled to be a freestyle.
Finally, don't miss the best party in Michigan, the Michigan Cup Relays (Mar 11) at the Cross Country Ski Headquarters. Last year we had over 50 teams and distributed the Michigan Cup Awards. Even if there is no snow we will still hand out the awards and hold the party.
