AUBURN, N.H. — Fischer Sports, the world’s leading cross country ski manufacturer, has unveiled its new offerings for the 2012-2013 season. For the first time, the company enters the women’s race boot market with the RCS Carbonlite WS model for both classic and skating techniques. In addition, Fischer introduces three new boots for the Offtrack category, a new fit in the men’s RCS Carbonlite Classic boot, its first-ever offerings in rental-specific boots and poles, and a new, lightweight backcountry ski.
“While our dominance in Nordic ski manufacture is unrivaled, we are excited to expand our commitment to delivering boots that live up to the world-class success of our skis,” said Peter Ashley, vice president of the Fischer Skis U.S. Nordic Division. “Through intense athlete involvement, in-depth research, and state-of-the-art technology and materials, we have made tremendous advances in Nordic ski boot fit, comfort and performance. Increasingly, Fischer athletes are choosing to race on our boots, and their winning results are a testament to the strides we’ve made in this category. Most recently, the top two women in this year’s Ski de Tour won on Fischer skis and boots.”
The 2012-2013 season marks Fischer’s first offering a women’s performance boot. The RCS Carbonlite WS boot delivers all the performance of the men’s boot in a sleek, lightweight design made on a women’s last for exceptional anatomical fit. The skate model features Fischer’s Torsion Control System and Frame Technology for perfect foot fixation and cradling, as well as the World Cup Carbon Crosslink and World Cup Carbon Cuff for superior power transfer. The classic model is one of the world’s lightest-weight racing boots, with Supportive Frame Technology and a diagonal carbon midsole for direct power transfer, perfect flex and optimum control. Both models deliver exceptional comfort through snake lacing, a wider toe box and SuperSoft wicking lining, as well as warmth with a new heat-reflective insole.
In 2012-2013, Fischer introduces three new boots for the Offtrack category, which launched last year. The very lightweight Offtrack 3 BC My Style and Offtrack 5 BC My Style boots for women feature an integrated gaitor and waterproof zipper to keep feet dry as well as a wool blend lining for exceptional warmth, insulation and moisture management. Both the men’s and women’s models of the new Offtrack 5 BC also feature Fischer’s Ankle Support Cuff for excellent stability and support. Perfectly suited for Fischer’s Spider 62 and Outback 68 skis, these boots offer go-anywhere convenience and all-around comfort for off track adventures.
The BCX 5 boot is redesigned with a Nubuk leather exterior, a Triple F membrane for improved wicking, and a wool blend lining and Thinsulate for long-lasting warmth on backcountry skis. Featuring Fischer’s Sport Fit Concept, this waterproof, breathable boot features high ankle protection as well as an injected heel cap for improved heel hold and control. This lightweight, easy-to-enter boot is versatile enough to suit Fischer’s S-Bound and Offtrack skis.
Fischer’s RCS Carbonlite Classic men’s boot sports an all-new fit in the coming season. Now with the classic Fischer Race Fit Concept, this featherweight boot delivers more performance than ever. Its sleek new design features a one-piece upper with a wider toe box for improved balance and warmth. Easy entry is promoted with snake lacing and supreme water protection is afforded through a sealed zipper. The boot’s heat-reflective insole keeps feet warm, and Supportive Frame Technology and a diagonal carbon midsole maximize direct power transfer and control.
The XC Comfort My Style boot for women has been redesigned. Featuring Fischer’s Ladies Fit Concept for exceptional anatomical fit, this sleek and stylish boot is designed for all-day comfort. An injected heel cap, a hidden Power Strap and Thermo Fit lining further support a perfect fit while Thinsulate ensures warmth. The T4 Classic sole ensures efficient flex so women can focus on having fun at every stride.
In 2012-2013, Fischer marks another first as it enters the rental boot and rental pole markets. Also available for retail, rental boots include the new XC Pro and XC Pro My Style for men and women, respectively. Rental models feature barcode space for inventory management, anti-bacterial lining and external size display for easy selection. Fischer also makes the XJ Sprint, its most popular junior boot, available for rental. Fischer adds poles to its rental line-up with the Classic Rental pole. This robust, 6013 aluminum pole features an ergonomic cork grip, Fischer’s Racelite basket and a color/length concept that makes it easy to select the right length at a glance.
In skis, Fischer introduces a new member to the backcountry group, the E109 Crown Xtralite. Weighing only 2,050 grams in the 200-cm length, this ski features an 82-60-70 sidecut for a perfect combination of touring and turning. It also features Fischer’s new Offtrack Crown pattern. Introduced in 2011, this revolutionary progressive-depth molded pattern maximizes grip while maintaining superior glide. Fischer’s E89 Crown and E99 Crown Xtralite backcountry skis are newly improved with the Offtrack Crown pattern. In addition, new construction reduces the E99 Crown’s Xtralite weight by 140 grams for even better performance. All of Fischer’s Nordic Cruising, My Style and Sport skis feature new graphic designs this season for improved distinction on or off the track.
With so many firsts and new designs, it’s easy to see why cross country skiers have a lot to look forward to in the coming season!
