IRONWOOD, Mich. - Michigan Tech posted four top-10 finishes in the 10-kilometer classic races at the Wolverine Challenge Sunday (Dec. 11).
The men’s team was led by Sondre Sandvik who finished seventh (26:41) and Luke Gesior was eighth (26:50).
Deedra Irwin was the top junior in the women’s race and finished fifth overall (32:41). Alice Flanders was one spot behind in 32:49.
“Our men’s team had a much better race today than they did yesterday,” said head coach Joe Haggenmiller. “We are in a pretty good place right now at this point in the season.
Tech had five other skiers finish in the top-25 of the men’s race: Matt Wong 13th (27:27), Mikko Harju 16th (27:33), Matt Dugan 22nd (27:53), Jay Woodbeck 24th (28:03) and Andrew Keller 25th (28:06).
Five Tech skiers finished in the top-25 of the women’s race: Sarah Daniels 11th (33:16), Christina Mishica 12th (33:21), Malin Eriksson 17th (33:47) Lynn Duijndam 20th (33:59) and Rachel Mason 21st (34:01).
