The paved "rollerski" connector between Kensinton Metropark's bike path and the Milford-Kensington Bikeway is almost done. Here's the latest photos:
(Above) This is the 2 mile point, headed counterclock-wise from the East Boat Launch parking lot off Kent Lake Road in Kensington Metropark. You can just see the new pavement leading up to the crest, where a new intersection has been created.
Crest of the hill. The trail is open around the normal Kensington bike path. The new intersection to the right....
...heads across the road to the new connector trail.
This is the middle of the traffic triangle. The path bears left to cross the road again.
Second road crossing, heading toward the South Windfall Hill Picnic area.
A little further down the path, after the road crossing. It appears this section only has one layer of ashpalt so far, with a second layer yet to be laid.
A little further....
...and into a meadow.
To the right...
... and down a hill toward the Milford Road park entrance.
Yep, need some pavement here...
And more pavement here - it's just gravel.
A little further on. You can see where a second layer of ashpalt has been laid on top of the first.
The path curves around the entrance stations...
...then heads up a hill to a picnic area (on left). The spur to the right leads to the picnic area.
Up and over the hill, and down the other side, and the path connects to the Milford-Kensington Bikeway.
It's a triangular intersection. Head left toward Milford; head right and climb up to Milford Road and the Dairy Queen.
