We jumped in a speed session used by APU coach Erik Flora. While standard USST speeds have interval durations of 8-10 seconds, this workout focused on 15-30 second efforts around an interesting neighborhood loop that included great flats, V1 pitches, and over-speed downhills. While the longer duration can get away from pure speed, you'll see from the footage that the speed is still very high and the workout was very successful. APU likes to focus on high-quality (L1 / L2) distance training between each interval. This allows them to enter the next speed with accumulating fatigue. Thanks for a great workout!
