We have developed the Salomon Athlete Force sponsorship pipeline to help increase the level of skiing nationwide by providing athletes, coaches and teams in the country with the best support and access to Salomon products.
The Salomon Athlete Force pipeline has been instrumental in helping top US athletes, including present US Ski Team athletes; Kikkan Randall, Andy Newell and Morgan Arritola Make History. Eight out of the fourteen 2011 US World Ski Championship Team members choose Salomon boots and bindings, while Tad Elliot, Holly Brooks and Jesse Diggins make Salomon’s complete ski, boot, and binding system the most trusted system of the US World Ski Championship Team. More 2011 USSA SuperTour races have been won on Salomon’s complete system than on every other brand combined. Salomon was also the most successful ski, boot, binding system at 2011 US Nationals in Rumford, ME with 3 National Championship Titles and 2 Silver Medals. Athletes selecting Salomon Boot & Bindings also won more National Titles and made more podium appearances than every other boot brand or binding system combined. The Salomon Athlete Force will provide you with the resources, staff and support you need to Make History. Your Salomon Equipe 10 skis will be hand-selected for you from the Salomon LAB in Annecy, France. As a member of the Salomon Athlete Force, you will have early access to a multitude of Salomon Nordic products as well as Salomon running shoes, apparel and luggage. At most major U.S. and international event, Salomon Race Service staff will be on hand to help you. Whether you are racing at Junior Olympics, Senior Nationals, SuperTours, Junior Worlds, World Masters, World Championships or even the Olympics, you will have access to the expertise, support and care that only Salomon’s integrated worldwide racing program can offer. As an Athlete Force member you will receive unparalleled support and product. In return you will be expected to serve as a proactive spokesperson and ambassador for the sport of cross-country skiing and the Salomon brand. After reviewing each application we will determine if you qualify and which level of sponsorship we can offer you. We will notify each applicant via e-mail as they are/or are not accepted to the Salomon Athlete Force. The complete sponsorship packages will be detailed if you are accepted into the program at which time you will have one week to accept or decline sponsorship to the Salomon Athlete Force. Your acceptance acts an agreement and requires you to use Salomon skis and/or boots & bindings exclusively for the 2011-12 season.
How to Become a Member: To apply to become a member of the program you simply need to fill out the online application prior to the April 30, 2011 deadline. All athletes, especially juniors, are encouraged to apply through/with their coach/club. Applications will be reviewed as they arrive so get yours in early to gain priority. You must meet minimum qualification standards to be accepted at any level, but meeting the standards does not guarantee acceptance. es, 2010-2011 members must reapply.
Levels of Sponsorship:
Because we want only the very best athletes coaches and hometown heroes to represent the world’s leading Nordic brand we have set up 4 hard to reach sponsorship tiers. Our 4-tier system rewards improvement. The criteria for International, National, Regional, and Local levels are detailed below. Sponsorship is available for boots/bindings and/or skis with preference given to those selecting Salomon’s complete system.
- International - Complimentary Custom Fit Skis, and/or Boots & Bindings plus Salomon incentive contracts
- National - Complimentary Custom Fit and/or Boots & Bindings
- Regional - Best Pricing on Custom Fit Skis and/or Boots & Bindings
- Local – Great Pricing on Custom Fit Skis and/or Boots & Bindings

Salomon Athlete Force Sponsorship minimum requirements.
I. Cross-Country
Juniors:
- To be considered for Local: Athlete must have top 8 YOB (Year of Birth) USSA ranking.
- To be considered for Regional: Athlete must have top 3 YOB USSA ranking.
- To be considered for National: Athlete must have placed in the top 30 at the previous season’s World Jr. Champs.
Seniors or Juniors:
- To be considered for Local: Athlete must be ranked in top 50 athletes in final USSA points list or top 7 in their division.
- To be considered for Regional: Athlete must be ranked in top 30 athletes in final USSA points list or top 4 in their division.
- To be considered for National: Athlete must be ranked in top 15 athletes in final USSA points list.
- To be considered for International: Athlete must be ranked in top 30 athletes in Final FIS Ranking.
II. Nordic Combined:
- To b considered for Local: Athlete must have made Junior World Team in the previous season.
- To be considered for Regional: Athlete must be racing World Cup B (not in Nation’s Group)
- To be considered for National: Athlete must be racing World Cup A
- To be considered for International: Athlete must be ranked World Cup Top 10 overall
III. Disabled:
- To be considered for Local: Athlete must be named to the US Disabled Ski Team or USBA Disabled Ski Team.
- To be considered for Regional: Athlete must have finished in the top half of the field at Paralympics or World Cup.
- To be considered for National: Athlete must have finished in the top 5 at Paralympics or WC.
- To be considered for International: Athlete must have won at Paralympics or WC.
IV. Biathlon:
Junior/Youth:
- To be considered for Local: Athlete must be named to US Biathlon Jr. C Team or Youth World Championship Team
- To be considered for Regional: Athlete must be named to the US Biathlon Junior B Team
- To be considered for National: Athlete must be named to the US Biathlon Junior A Team
Seniors:
- To be considered for Local: Athlete must have US Biathlon ranking exceeding 94 points.
- To be considered for Regional: Athlete must have US Biathlon ranking exceeding 96 points.
- To be considered for National: Athlete must have US Biathlon ranking exceeding 98 points.
- To be considered for International: Athlete must be ranked in the top 30 on the IBU rankings.
V. Citizen Racer/Marathoner: Must have nomination from Salomon retailer and
- To be considered for Local: Athlete must have scored 3 top 3 results in your largest local races.
- To be considered for Regional: Athlete must have scored 3 top 3 results in a race with more than 750 participants.
- To be considered for National: Athlete must have scored 3 top 3 results in a race with more than 1750 participants.
- To be considered for International: Athlete must have scored 3 top 3 results in a race with more than 5000 participants.
V. Coaches Force and Hometown Hero: Must have nomination from Salomon retailer and
- To be considered for Local Coach or Hero must demonstrate significant influence with more than 100 Local Consumers
- To be considered for Regional: Coach or Hero must demonstrate significant influence with more than 150 Regional Consumers
- To be considered for National: Coach or Hero must demonstrate significant influence with more than 300 National Consumers
The Salomon Athlete Force will only accept athletes/coaches/heroes who meet the minimum ranking requirements and demonstrate the character and conviction necessary to succeed in promoting the sport and the Salomon brand.
