Skiing at Timber Ridge on Friday 
If you would like to test your skis at Timber Ridge on friday before or after you pick up your race packet, you will have nicely groomed trails on their property to ski on. In addition, you can ski out on the Vasa trail system. On Friday there will be a reduced trail pass rate of $5. Also, you can take advantage of the Brick Wheels ski shop that is now on site for waxing, ski products, wax tips or rentals. If you have not met our new local guru celebrity, Eli Brown, come on in and introduce yourself. He will probably be brandishing a hot iron so be careful.
VASA Sprints are On for Friday Night 
If you would like to get an edge on your competitors for the Vasa Grand Champion Awards, you might want to try the Vasa Sprints. They will be for adults only and run from 5-6 pm on a one closed loop course that is less than one kilometer at Timber Ridge. If your lap time is better than our target time, you can reduce your overall time for the Grand Champion awards. Entry is only $10 and you can register at Timber Ridge when you arrive. The Sprints will also help you work up an appetite for the annual Vasa pasta feed
Annual VASA Pasta Feed 
You will probably want to carbo load the night before a big race and boy do we have a deal for you! The Traverse City Combined High School Nordic Ski Team parents will be hosting the annual VASA pasta feed. It will begin at 5pm at the Timber Ridge banquet hall. Come and mix with fellow skiers in a warm, friendly environment while you pack on the carbs for your race/s on the weekend.
VASA Awards Party
The annual post-race awards party will be held at the Michigan Ballrooms at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa in Acme. The bar and food areas will be open at 5pm and the formal presentations will begin at 5:30pm. They will offer a full cash bar and a very attractive Cash Dinner Buffet. The buffet will include salad, Penne and Rigatoni Pasta, garlic bread and a fresh fruit salad for an affordable $9.35 per person. The Grand Traverse Resort is also our host hotel. Traverse City is the Place to BE This Weekend
In addition to the VASA Festival of Races, Porterhouse Productions will be hosting the Traverse City Microbrew and Music Festival both friday and saturday nights. The location is on Union Street between 7th and 8th street in the Old Town section of Traverse City. They are offering great food, incredible live music and over 75 craft microbrews.
