OTEPAA, Estonia (Jan. 31) - The U.S. wrapped up the FIS Junior World Nordic Ski Championships in Otepaa, Estonia Monday, finishing seventh in the women's 4.3k relay and 10th in the men's 4.5k relay.
The women's U.S. relay team, including Amy Glen (Anchorage, AK), Kinsey Loan (Eagle River, AK), Jessica Diggins (Afton, MN) and Joanne Reid (Palo Alto, CA), was on the outside looking in on Monday as Norway took a commanding win followed by Russia and Germany.
For the men, Norway, Russia and Finland rounded out the top three. The U.S. team consisting of Tyler Kornfield, Scott Patterson (Anchorage, AK), Andrew Dougherty (Anchorage, AK), Erik Bjornsen (Winthrop, WA) skied well, but was unable to advance any higher than 10th.
This was the last event at the 2011 FIS Junior World Nordic Ski Championships in Otepaa, Estonia.
