The Adaptive Ski Program is looking for Participants and Volunteers. It's Volunteer Training this Month.
Ski Trainer Volunteers are required to attend one training session. The schedule follows: Tuesday, November 23rd 6:30-7:30; Tuesday, November 30th 5:30-6:30 and 6:30-7:30; Saturday, December 4th 9-10 a.m. The training will be at the SAIL office on Wright St. in Marquette, MI
The program is looking for volunteers to work with children and/or adults with disabilities learn how to XC ski. Some may be stand-up skiers, and some may be sit-skiers.
The program is very young, just starting last season. This fall Al Quaal and the City of Ishpeming embraced the program with open arms, and they are super excited to say that they now have a "home." Wilderness Sports is donating free rentals to our stand-up skiers. Al Quaal has one heated handicapped accessible bathroom available for use during the ski nights.
If you are interested in being a part of this 100% volunteer program, please email [email protected].
The cost is free for persons with physical or visual impairments.
