The 2nd Annual REI Frosty Freestyle 5/15k Cross Country Ski Race will start at 10:30 am on January 15, 2011 at the Huron Meadows Metropark just south of Brighton, Michigan.
This year, the REI Frosty Freestyle will expand to include both skate and classic divisions for both the 5K and the 15K events. Choose your technique and distance! As a freestyle race, skate and classic results will be combined in 15K for Michigan Cup points. The two techniques will have their own awards, however.
The gently rolling terrain of the 5K course makes the Frosty 5k a FABULOUS beginner's race!
The Frosty Freestyle will present a series of three FREE classes designed to introduce people to the sport of cross country ski racing. Mike Muha, Race Director for the Frosty Freestyle, will be covering everything you need to know to get started. The classes will be held at REI in Ann Arbor every Tuesday evening for three weeks, starting Nov 30. Three weeks to faster skiing!
