Charlotte Kalla won the Tour de Ski in 2008, but since then has not taken part in the fight for victory. She missed 2009 and 2010 editions. But now she is in full training again and the Tour de Ski is one of Charlotte's main objective in the coming season.
The Swedish newspaper Expressen has revealed that the Swedish Cross-Country skiing queen will focus again on the Tour, which will be together with the World Championships in Oslo season's biggest goal for Charlotte Kalla.
23-year-old skier from Tärendö also work hard to develop her classic technique, which is essential if she wants to win World Championship gold in the double pursuit. In free technique she can already count herself among the world's best, which she proved with her Olympic gold in the 10 km Free.
When Expressen found Charlotte at home in Östersund, she was very concentrated, carrying out running workouts very hard in the terrain around the ski stadium.
She works close together with their mental advisor Lars-Erik Sandler.
"Before each workouts Charlotte exactly thinks over what she wants to achieve and what she should do. Evaluation of the session then follows up," says Sandler to Expressen. And Charlotte is to find a way to take out further. A few percent can make the difference between gold or failure. "It's mostly a mental issue. And I constantly work on that with Lars-Erik Sandler." And the mental adviser knows that there are ways to follow.
