The Ohio Nordic Flurry cross country ski races - a 10K freestyle event, a 5K classic race, and a kids race - took place under beautiful warm sunny skies and over a hard-packed fast course. Said racer Tony Marut, "Right off the gun, it was fast." Downhills corners were wickedly fast.

Held in the Chapin Forest Reservation Metropark in Kirkland, Ohio on February 20, 2010, many skiers choose to race both the 5K and 10K events. In fact, the top three men in each race were the same skiers!
In the 5K classic, Team NordicSkiRacer Michael Schaefer and Jim Samuels tied with the same time of 14:58. In third was Jay Hole in 16:37. Wendy Anderson took first overall among the women, easily winning in 17:53. Second and third was a more tightly fought battle, with Kirsten O'Hern finishing 13 seconds ahead of Olga Rachitskaya, 20:27 to 20:40.
Jay Hole leads Mike Maring and a train of skiers up a hill in the 10K Freestyle. Hole and Maring finish 3rd and 4th overall.
In the 10K freestyle, it was again Jim Samuels, Michael Schaefer and Jay Hole as the top three, with times of 27:16, 28:31, and 29:13. Viktoria Koskenja was the top women in 29:50, followed by Debbie Mizikowski in 31:56 with Wendy Anderson in third in 32:43.
