Cross-Country races over Christmas
Even though we had Christmas last week there was almost not ime for Christmas relaxing among cross-country skiers. National championships in Germany and Italy as well as FIS competitions were on schedule.
Italian National Championships
In Italy, on 23-24. and 27 December, the new champion in the sprint, in the pursuit and team sprint was found. The day before Christmas Eve Magda Genuin and Loris Frasnelli claimed victories in the sprint. Genuin dominated the race before Karin Moroder and Elisa Brocard, Frasnelli succeeded against Nicola Morandini and Fabio Pasini. Thomas Moriggl and Arianna Follis won the pursuit race on the Christmas day. Marianna Longa and Silvia Rupil were 2nd and 3rd. In the men's race it was Pietro Piller Cottrer and Roland Clara who occupied podium places. Team sprint race was won by duo Cristian Zorzi / Fulvio Scola and Elisa Brocard / Magda Genuin.
FIS sprint in Moscow
Russian national sprint elite met at a city sprint in Moscow. Natalia Korosteleva won the ladies in front of Elena Turysheva and Katherina Tchuikova. In the men's competitin Nikolay Morilov won ahead of Deviatjarov and Igor Rysin.
Swiss Cup in Campra
Swiss Cup in Campra was carried out yesterday. Swiss sprint specialists and several foreign racers were at the start. In the women's Bettina Gruber won ahead Laurien van der Graaff and Esther Bottomley. Valerio Leccardi secured sprint victory ahead of the Finn Niklas Colliander and Noe Tüfer.
